Throughout Biblical scripture are descriptions of events that will happen during the last days of the world as we know it now. Following is a list of 21 major events and their Biblical references. This list was taken from the book “Countdown To The Apocalypse” Grant R. Jeffrey, 2008, pps 163-164.

1. The rebirth of Israel (the fig tree buds)

"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."

7. Israel surrounded by enemy Arab nations

8. The revival of the Roman Empire

20. Massive climate change

The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"
