It's so exciting when you decide you are ready to purchase your first home at the La Quinta Resort and Club. I know the process may appear over whelming, but with the right help it can be simple and even fun. These are some of the most commonly asked questions I get from customers. Hopefully these help in making the method more delightful for you.

What should I look for when I am ready to start having a look at houses?

As you walk through the home, ask yourself: is there lots of space, do I admire the floor plan, and is there high quality space for storage? What about the yard? Is it the correct size for my folks; are there plenty of lavatories, and so on. ? You also have to be comfortable with the state of the home. Do you need a doer upper? Or do you need a home that's in move- in condition?

Q-Is an older home as good of an investment as a new home?

This is a case of personal preference and preference. Both more recent and older homes can offer distinct advantages. As an example, new houses generally have better open living and entertaining spaces, like the living room. But many older properties offer more total square footage for the money. It actually depends on what you're looking for, and if you are willing to put the cash and time into maintaining an older home.

Will I need to bring anything with me during showings?

Just bring a pen! Your real-estate agent should provide you with an undeniable fact sheet and note paper for each home you visit.

After I see the homes, what should I tell my real estate agent?

Let them know what you like and don't like about each home you see. It is critical for your agent to have an appreciation of what you’re looking for, so that they can serve you better. Don’t be shy. If you do not like the house, tell them. Then they will know not to show you anything similar.

How many houses should I look at before I buy?

There is no set number. Your real estate agent should be content to look till you find the best one.

I would like to have a pro glance at the home. What does a home inspector do?

We seriously recommend employing a pro home inspector. A home inspector will check a home’s plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical systems and look for structural issues, so you do not have any dear surprises. They will also provide you with a written report of the inspection. This will help you to see extremely clearly if there are any issues with the home, whether they are little or giant.

Should I be present in the inspection?

I'd highly recommend that you be there for the inspection. At the least you can walk through the home with the inspector after he's finished. Then he can say any issues with the home, and give you ideas on the way to fix them. If you're not capable of making it , however , you may be able to go over the written report. After the report comes back, you and your agent can then go back to the home and look over the items that the home inspector brought to your attention .

With these questions answered the purchase of your brand new place should be smooth sailing.
